First Trip of the Year

Well we braved the elements last week and headed from Cork to Armagh to the lovely Cusher Valley (www.cushervalleycl.co.uk) campsite. A small 5 pitch site located about 5 mins from the town of Markethill, its ideally located for a spot of cross border shopping. There is always a warm welcome from Linda and Kenny, with offers of teabags and milk! And for €9 per night, its the best value for money we've come across.
From there, we headed to an old reliable, Camac Valley (www.camacvalley.com) in Clondalkin. This is a lovely large site on the Naas Road, with the bus stop to the city centre right at the gate, which passes right by Dublin Zoo. The biggest disappointment here was the price. €25 per night in off peak season, and not a drop of hot water to be had. During the summer Camac Valley is a lively spot, and Corkagh Park next door has lots of space for walking and picnics. But in the winter the price is far from a bargain.
