Well we are the proud owners of a new motorhome- well, new to us. It fits the bill perfectly, good layout, bunk beds for the kids, and we had our maiden voyage this past weekend. We hit the road to the Glen of Aherlow campsite (www.tipperarycamping.com) and we delighted with what we found. A lovely country campsite, a warm welcome from George, the proprietor, and we enjoyed a great weekend. In fact, we came home and immediately went online to see where we could skive off to between now and Christmas!
The forum is coming together nicely, and we are shortly going to be getting in touch with the site owners and inviting them to get involved.

Pleased to Meet You!
We started our journey ten years ago, with a two man tent and a Toyota Yaris. We packed up the car, got on board the freight ferry at Rosslare and headed for Cherbourg. We spent 3 weeks travelling around Europe, in all weathers, with just the basic rations to keep us going.
We had some amazing experiences, with just our map and no specific route plan. We came across some real gems, and some real dumps!
A few years and a two year old later, we searched on ebay for a suitable tent. A 3 bedroom monstrosity! We packed up and enjoyed travelling around Ireland on weekend breaks before packing up and heading for France.
We had a completely different experience tenting as a family compared to a couple, and while it was different, it was just as positive.
And then came the big purchase. A motorhome. Now with 2 children in tow, a motorhome seemed a more practical option, especially with the Irish climate! We also liked the idea of having a ready to go holiday outside the front door whenever the mood took us.
We bought an older model, and refurbished and updated it, and enjoyed weekends and holidays around Ireland, the UK and Wales. And now, one year later, we are selling it and upgrading for a newer model.
So we look forward to sharing our experiences and advice, as well as making some new discoveries of our own!!

Preparing for Launch!
Welcome to the Happy Camper Site! We are delighted to announce a brand new online community for motorhome, caravan and camping. The forum is currently under construction, and will include discussion, campsite reviews, classifieds, technical and mechanical news, as well as an opportunity to share your experiences and photos of your travels.
The idea for this site came from a long road trip earlier this year, when we were looking for campsites along the way, and couldn't find a website with personal recommendations and up to date information. So seeing as how we can't be everywhere at once, a community based site seemed like the best option.
We want you to share your advice, recommendations and tips with everyone else, and we look forward to welcoming you as a Happy Camper!!
